About ACOM

The Arkansas Coalition of Marshallese exists to uplift the wellbeing of Marshallese families through a holistic approach that honors culture, strengthens community, and expands opportunity. Our work recognizes that health is shaped not only by medical care but also by the social and economic conditions that surround a family: access to food, stable income, education, language support, and a sense of belonging. By addressing these social determinants of health, ACOM helps families build stronger foundations for today while opening doors for the generations that follow.

Our four pillars guide everything we do.

Health

We help families navigate healthcare systems, access insurance, and understand preventive care. Through education, outreach, and culturally grounded support, we ensure that parents and children have the tools they need to live healthier lives.

Advocacy

We work to ensure that Marshallese voices are represented in policy conversations and community systems. By advocating for equitable access, language support, and fair treatment, we help remove structural barriers that impact the wellbeing of the entire community.

Economics

We provide essential resources such as food, infant supplies, workforce support, and financial education. These programs strengthen economic stability and create long term pathways toward independence and opportunity.

Leadership

We invest in youth and emerging leaders through mentorship, scholarships, cultural programs, and community events. These intentional efforts nurture identity, confidence, and purpose, ensuring that the next generation is equipped to lead with strength and pride.

Together, these four pillars form a comprehensive framework that supports families in every stage of life. ACOM’s approach is not just about meeting immediate needs. It is about creating lasting change by strengthening families, empowering communities, and preserving Marshallese culture for generations to come.
